Time Clock & Timesheets

Staff clock in and out on a paired tablet with their PIN or Shift code, and managers fix, approve and export the hours from Timesheets.

Last updated October 12, 2026

The time clock records who worked when, including breaks, so you can pay from real hours. Staff punch on a tablet at the store, and the hours land in Timesheets for review and payroll. It is off until you turn it on, and works with or without Scheduling.

Turn it on

  1. In Store Settings › Services › Time Clock, turn it on and choose your labor week, pay period and the breaks your store uses.
  2. In Sidebar › SETUP › Devices, tap New Device, pick Time Clock and create it. Each time clock tablet gets its own code.
  3. On the tablet, open /time-clock (also listed in Store Settings › Displays), enter the code and tap Pair device. You do this once.
  4. Staff clock in and out with their PIN, or show My clock-in code from the Shift app.

Hours, fixes, approvals and payroll export live in Sidebar › TEAM › Timesheets. Owners and admins set wages in PEOPLE › Wages and paid time off in PEOPLE › Time off.

Good to know

  • A punch is never refused for being late or unscheduled; differences show up afterwards for a manager to look at.
  • A forgotten clock-out closes on its own and shows under Fix before payroll for you to correct. You can also tell the AI Manager someone forgot to clock out.
  • Every correction needs a reason and is kept on the audit trail; the original is never lost.
  • Approve each week, then Export for payroll for a CSV of hours and pay. Exporting marks those days as paid.
  • Each shift records the wage in force that day, so a raise never rewrites past pay.

If something's not working

  • Clock won't start? Check Time Clock is on, and pair the tablet with a Time Clock code from SETUP › Devices.
  • A PIN doesn't work? Check the person is on PEOPLE › Roster; they can see their PIN in Shift under Me.
  • Still stuck? Email [email protected].
