Team Messages, Announcements & the Team Line
Post announcements and keep a shift log in TEAM › Comms, message any person one to one, and let the team line answer staff texts in their own language.

Every person has one conversation with the store, whichever way it travels. People using the Shift app see it there; people without the app get texts. Managers use the dashboard, and the AI Manager answers routine questions so nobody waits.
Where to find it
- Sidebar › TEAM › Comms: Waiting on a person, Announcements and the Shift log.
- TEAM › Schedule › Open the schedule board (with Scheduling on): Team opens the store's team channel and each person's Messages; Requests shows the team line's number.
To post an announcement, tap New in Comms, add a title and a message, tick Also text and email for something nobody should miss, and tap Post. Everyone taps Got it in Shift, and you see how many have read it.
Good to know
- The Shift log is what the next manager on should know, kept per business day.
- A one-to-one reply goes to their app, or by text if they don't use it. Type @AI to ask the AI Manager in that thread; it never changes anything. See Talk to your AI Manager.
- Team texting is on for every store through a shared OpenPOS line; Get a dedicated local number in Requests gives your store its own.
- Staff text the team line to check their schedule, ask for time off, swap or call out; nothing changes until a manager approves, unless the store lets the AI approve routine time off. Urgent news goes straight to managers, a problem with the store becomes an incident, and anything the AI can't answer goes to a manager.
- Each person picks their language in Shift. Your messages reach them in it, and theirs show to you in English with the original a tap away.
If something's not working
- Someone isn't getting messages? Check their number in PEOPLE › Roster and How the store reaches me in their Shift app. Routine messages wait out quiet hours; urgent ones don't.
- A staff text got no answer? Look in Waiting on a person in Comms.
- Still stuck? Email [email protected].
