Set Up Delivery: My Team vs OpenPOS Delivery
Choose whether your store delivers with your own drivers or lets OpenPOS arrange a courier.
OpenPOS supports two delivery models. You can deliver with your own team, or you can use OpenPOS Delivery, where OpenPOS arranges a courier through delivery partners behind the scenes.
The two delivery choices
| My Team | Your store uses its own drivers. You set the delivery fee, radius, estimated time, and driver workflow. The delivery fee is part of your order revenue. |
| OpenPOS Delivery | OpenPOS arranges the courier, provides tracking, and sends delivery progress updates to the customer. OpenPOS sets and retains the delivery fee to cover the courier cost. |
How to enable delivery
- Go to Settings > Ordering.
- Turn on Delivery.
- Choose My Team or OpenPOS Delivery under fulfilled by.
- Set your service radius and minimum order.
- If you use OpenPOS Delivery, choose when OpenPOS should request the courier: when the order is confirmed, when the kitchen starts, or when the order is ready.
OpenPOS Delivery customer experience
Customers place delivery orders from your storefront. At checkout, OpenPOS calculates whether the address can be served and shows the delivery fee before payment. If delivery is not available for that address or time, the customer is asked to choose pickup or try another address.
After the courier is dispatched, the customer receives delivery status updates from OpenPOS. The tracking link may open an OpenPOS order status page or a live courier tracking page, depending on the delivery partner.
Scheduled delivery
If your store accepts scheduled orders, OpenPOS can pass the scheduled delivery window to the courier flow. The customer chooses a future time, your kitchen prepares the order near that time, and OpenPOS Delivery requests the courier for the delivery window.
When to use each option
- Use My Team if you already have drivers and want to control delivery pricing and staffing yourself.
- Use OpenPOS Delivery if you want to offer delivery without hiring or managing drivers.
