OpenPOS has two places for numbers. Analytics explains how the store is doing and why. Reports (Sales & Collections) is the money record you hand to your bookkeeper: sales, tax, payments and refunds. This article is for owners and managers.
Where to find it
- Go to Sidebar › Analytics or Sidebar › Reports. Each links to the other.
- Pick a date range at the top. In Analytics you can also choose what to Compare to.
- Choose a tab. Analytics covers Overview, Sales, Menu, Operations, Guests and Feedback. Reports covers sales, payments and credits, open tabs, refunds, daily detail and monthly exports.
- In Reports, Export gives a PDF or CSV for your accountant, and Print prints the whole report.
Good to know
- A sale counts on the day the order was completed, in your store's time zone. Payments count on the day they were paid and refunds on the day they were processed — so a refund can belong to an order from another period.
- Get AI Insights in Analytics gives recommendations from the numbers you're looking at, and Ask AI in Reports sends a question about the report to the AI chat.
- With the AI Manager on, you also get a daily brief and weekly and monthly reviews by email, from the same numbers. See What your AI Manager does every day.
- Reports aren't a tax return, and they aren't reconciled to your bank deposits — Stripe has the payout record. Delivery fees kept by OpenPOS are shown separately; see OpenPOS Delivery fees.
- Running several stores? Brand Insights compares them. See Run Several Stores.
If something's not working
- A sale missing? An order that isn't finished yet isn't counted until it's completed.
- A number on a different day than you expected? Days run midnight to midnight in your store's time zone, and payments and refunds count on their own day.
