The Shift App (Each Person's Phone)

Shift is the personal side of your team tools. It runs at /shift on each person's own phone and only shows them their own things: shifts, availability, time off, swaps and cover, hours, and messages with the store. The store's shared iPad runs the staff app instead. Both use the same phone number and PIN, and the same PIN works at the time clock.

Where to find it

1. Add the person in PEOPLE › Roster with their mobile number (or email).
2. With Scheduling on, open TEAM › Schedule › Open the schedule board, tap Team, pick the person and tap Send app invite. They get a text (or an email) with a link.
3. The link opens a short setup: they check their details and see their PIN. PINs are made for each person, never chosen, so nobody can guess a coworker's.
4. On iPhone they tap Share › Add to Home Screen, then Turn on notifications.

Store Settings › Displays also lists Shift with a link and a QR code.

Good to know

• Four tabs: Today (what needs them; managers also approve requests here), Schedule, Team (announcements and messages, see Team messages) and Me (availability, time off, clock-in code, PIN and language).
• Can't make a shift? Can't make it asks the store to find cover, offers a swap, or tells the manager. The shift stays theirs until a manager approves.
• Not everyone wants an app. Anyone can text the team line to check their schedule, ask for time off, swap or call out, and the AI Manager answers in their language. Nothing changes until a manager approves, unless the store lets the AI approve routine time off.
• Someone with two employers on OpenPOS uses Switch workplace in Me.

If something's not working

• No invite, or forgot the PIN? Open Shift, enter the number and tap Forgot your PIN? Text me a code.
• No Schedule tab? Scheduling must be on at their store (Store Settings › Services › Scheduling).
